due to the recent overwhelming response (i mean, really, when have i ever coerced so many of you closet readers to leave your two cents?), i’ve decided to take this blog a different route.
what route is that? you ask.
let me tell you. we’re no longer going to be squeezing the universe here (whatever that means, anyway) —- no, we’re going to wipe it clean.
that’s right. i’m going to be the biggest housecleaning blog on the block.
to kick off, i’m going to tell you that for the past two days my children have been eating their cereal out of tupperware.
and my vacuum broke.
which leads me into telling you that i let my visiting teacher come over for the first time even though my entire first floor was covered (i’m not exaggerating) in crushed goldfish.
(for those of you childless out there, i’m talking about goldfish crackers, because goldfish fish wouldn’t necessarily crush. but i don’t know that for sure.)
ta da. (and the housekeeper takes a bow and walks off stage.)

the baby potty had dried up poop crusties on the inside of the bowl when we gave our hometeacher a tour yesterday.
the sad part was that i didn’t find it unusual or embarassing.
totally laughing. I spent the morning in a cleaning tizzy because my VTer were coming over. why why why? they brought a combined total of 5 children with them?!?!?!?
Good idea on the blog Jess, nice to know we’re not alone in the good housekeeping dept! My VT came over today too (what’s today’s date?
Since we’re being so frank, Erica was naked b/c she’s potty training and then she didn’t make it to the potty and left a little wet trail going up the stairs on the new carpet, so I had to pause for a cleanup break. We had 9 kids in the house, 4 mine, 2 I was babysitting, and 3 of my VT’s. Fun times.
I always love to read your posts Jess. I let a friend from the ward come over and help me clean out my fridge. It hadn’t been cleaned for probably a year. I’m glad I’m finally learning to let people help me when I need help.
I decided to stop cleaning for Home/Visiting teachers about two years ago. I realized that I hated it when people felt like they had to clean for me when I went VTing, and so I would just pay it forward and not clean when I got visited! Plus, it’s not like my home teachers even notice whether or not my house is clean, right?
