    DIY: the dirty truth

i’m up to my eyeballs in boxes and garbage. (did you know that if you have a professional moving company and you’re not there to say “what the… ?” they will, in fact, pack your garbage.?.) and i keep looking at lovely spaces like this or this and sighing and thinking, “i’m going to make my house like that.” and then i start and the kids put their hands in the paint or i have to stop in the middle to make dinner and do bedtime and then there’s laundry everywhere because i’m DIYing instead of keeping on top of the mundane. so. to make all the rest of you in the world who find project blogs depressing, i’m about to post some real life photos. photos where i didn’t even put away the vacuum. because we could all use a little more reality and a little less of people who relocate belly buttons with photoshop.

Much better, chick. My diy stuff always looks like that until I shove all of the kids out of the house and take a picture quick before they come back in. Then it’s back to normal.

hahaha, this is how I feel about my garden. I have all sorts of posts I need to post on my project blog about my pathetic little garden. but i do love my little garden even if it just produces one measly pea at a time. Good luck with the rest of “settling in” (the process that continues until just about the time you’re ready to move again!)

Imagine my confusion to hear posts about Texas when I was sure you were in Ann Arbor and if not there Colorado. But I found the post about moving and becoming a military wife - you rock!! I know what it’s like not to be in school anymore and can’t imagine going back, so I say good for you for letting him reach his goal and truck on through it. You are probably a better wife than I am - I don’t think that’s a clever thing to say even though that was my assignment, but I don’t think it might be true. And for what it’s worth, your bedroom has a way better color palette than mine. ANd another PS Hunger Games has been sitting on my nightstand for a month waiting to be read but I haven’t managed it yet, where are my priorities? I love your posts as usual!
