That wasn't a twist to me either. But as far as the ending and the fact that Briony's novel is what we got out of the book, instead of the "facts" was a bit of a twist for me, and somewhat of a let down. As it says in the book, I'm one who needs/wants a complete ending. And then he goes and ruins it! BTW: I didn't know I was even on a bandwagon when I read this one!
